In the future, specialty shops may develop to help home owners make better decisions.  These shops may be an opportunity for increased sales, but the driving purpose will be to better understand less obvious capabilities of each peripheral..  In the future, intelligent computers may use peripherals in ways not immediately obvious to customers.  This means that peripheral support centers may bring together resources to demonstrate peripherals in operational settings.

In the future, every home network peripheral or add-on subsystem may require support services.  Sales and marketing technicians may explain to customers the benefits of their products and explain how their peripherals will work in the home network.  Each peripheral may require support by specially trained technicians.  Special replacement components and special diagnostic products may be involved.  Wireless components may have their own unique diagnostic procedures.
