Industry Description

In the future, it may be possible that companies performing network service provider services will not be the ones doing the actual installation.  Perhaps there are many miles between the two locations.  Perhaps a systems manufacturer or retailer works with local contractors to install systems in their respective parts of the country.  Whatever the situation, systems installers will know that their work has been done properly when their final testing results match those produced just before the system was shipped.

Very simple installations may not require complex analyses of all its elements, but everything must still work properly.  Many people may contract with professionals to provide well-designed and fully functional systems.  Others may choose to train themselves and do all of the work themselves.  And still others may find middle ground by contracting for aspects of the work they do not feel comfortable doing themselves.  Regardless of who performs the installation, this work must be done correctly.

Successful systems installations are very important for every new installation, upgrade, and retrofit.  Here is where all the ideas come together and must operate correctly.  Network processors, security panels, peripherals, power supplies, UPSs, routers and other wireless components, and cabling must all participate well.  If any of hundreds of other decisions were incorrectly made, this is where the mistakes will be discovered.  Competent systems installers must be mindful of all the other elements of network design and component specification — everything that precedes the final installation.  Systems Installers are also responsible for identifying problems during final testing so that errors and omissions can be resolved with the manufacturer and/or retailer.
