Appliance redesign is nearly continuous.  Better designs simplify production, offer features for new advertising campaigns, or just make the appliance better.  These are projects for research and manufacturing and add value to existing appliances.  In the future, manufacturers may  introduce digital concepts and design appliances for easy home network connectivity.  By featuring better and safer appliances for the home network environment, manufacturers may reap better sales and hopefully greater market share.
