Industry Description

In the future, research may be done to create more cost-effective home network system designs.  This may cause a fewer number of central processor unit (CPU) designs to be produced but each in greater numbers, driving the cost per system downward.  This may also present opportunities for greater numbers of peripherals and entertainment services to be recognized (Plug-n-Play concepts) from one of these CPUs, requiring fewer decisions by home network architects and home owners about choosing compatible peripherals.

Consider the day that an intelligent computer interacts with the home environment, produces a list of everything that is needed to complete the work, supervises technicians that perform the final installation, and then performs the final system check-out tests itself.
