Industry Description

There are products that can be used with or to support home networks, but which also have other uses in the home.  In the future, it may be possible to find such products for sale at businesses that focus advertising on customers with home networks.  Almost all of these products are useful in homes without home networks.

VelCro (used to manage telecommunication and fiber optic cable) tape is a great replacement for rubber bands to hold things together — such as cable management (hold the unneeded extra length of an extension cord in a neat little roll).  Electrical surge protectors help protect electrical devices from line surges from lightning strikes, even if these devices are not on the home network.  High security door locks may increase the level of protection in the home, even when they are not actually part of the home network.  Other products might be emergency flashlights, books on emergency preparations, and a growing list of items that were never important before the advent of home networks.
