One basic requirement of responsible systems is implementation of fail-safe concepts.  The challenge here is “to do no harm”. When a system does fail, a goal is for it to fail in ways that do the least harm to largest part of the mechanism.  In the future, every home network system may be able to successfully integrate with people, their chosen lifestyles, and levels of technical and nontechnical interfaces between people and networks.  How such protocols are created, what is considered to be best in every situation, and ways to implement desired results may always be part of the home network environment.
