[335999 ] = All other miscellaneous electrical equipment and component manufacturing — Uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) manufacturing

Industry Description

Home networks are powered by electricity.  When the power goes out, the home network will eventually stop working.  This means that every home network needs provisions for continuing sources of electricity when power mains fail to work.

One popular means of doing this is the use of Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPSs).  Based on the equipment being used, you must determine the output power capacity (wattage) and required run time (minutes) for each application.

If you don’t understand all this stuff, don’t worry.  Someone at an outlet store will help answer your questions and explain what your options are.  In the future, outlet stores may be available locally and online and may provide a full range of consulting, sales, and services to support UPSs.  Installation of units, multiple UPS systems, and extended-service designs may be supported.  High efficiency units that provide ongoing DC power to digital circuits may be widely available and sized for popular home network systems.

These devices may require AC to DC conversion, larger storage batteries, and power applied directly to digital devices without additional power conversion (and the losses of efficiency inherent to such conversion).  Such devices could replace traditional UPSs and would allow home networks to operate for longer periods on DC power.  Support for locally generated power from wind and solar devices may be provided.
