In the future, virtual systems effectiveness will be dependent upon physical devices functioning as they were intended to do.  Intelligent home networks may bring into homes elements of command, control, and information.  This may result in the virtual system (intelligent computer) requesting changes in some physical systems.

Here is an example.  Suppose that a family has only used their Wi-Fi in one end of their home.  Now, they want to have access to it in bedrooms at the other end of the home.  When the home network cannot communicate with devices in the bedrooms, it may suggest a list of changes to the physical system and participate in testing of the new configuration.  When the work is done, there will an adequate signal strength from a new or relocated router in all of the bedrooms.  In the future, home networks may routinely recognize problems like this, recommend remedies, and participate in completing the modifications.
